1st Training School on PET/MR
Technological Educational Institute of Athens,
13-16 May 2014, Athens, Greece

The Action "1st International Training School on PET-MRI Engineering" took place in Athens, from May 13th to May 16th 2014. The school focused mainly on the software aspects of PET/MR technology and included also the key hardware aspects.
The school was open for Masters and early PhD students, interested in this interdisciplinary, emerging topic. Emphasis was given to the promotion of ESRs, thus nine young lecturers were selected, in order to share their experience on PET/MR basics, Multimodality Image Processing, Simulation tools, Reconstruction & Corrections, Pulse Programming in MR, Kinetic Modeling for PET and MR, as well as their combination.

Thirty three students from sixteen (!) countries attended the school with the support of the Action; twelve were female. The Training School was held only a few days before the annual International Conference of the Action (3rd PSMR Conference on PET/MR and SPECT/MR) and 12 students were also present in the conference and benefit by also attending this event.

2nd Early Stage Researchers Workshop and Poster Session
May 6-7, 2013, Pullman Aachen Quellenhof, Germany

During the Aachen PSMR 2013 conference a special event, dedicated to the ESRs, was organized. The 2nd Early Stage Researchers Workshop included a poster session, as well as selected oral presentations and aimed to bring together ESRs from Action participants. In total 19 ESRs presented the results of their work, including their experience from STSMs in Action groups. The ESRs had the opportunity to meet each other, exchange ideas and experience. In addition, through their participation to this event, it was possible to partially support their expenses for attending PSMR conference and interact with world experts in the field of PET/MR.
